A Day In the Life…

Walking into Nursery feels like a home away from home, with cosy surroundings making the children feel more like they are visiting a friend, than starting school. Pictures of the children partaking in different activities immediately gives a sense belonging.

Relationships with families are crucial. We recognise that parents are their children’s first teachers and continue to have an invaluable role in their child’s development, even once they have started Nursery. Communication between home and school is an essential ingredient for a child’s success.

In Nursery, children develop curiosity, independence and a love of learning through purposeful play.  Our nurturing approach builds positive relationships creating a sense of belonging and security. Adults enable children to learn through intentional interactions, and support children to become skillful communicators.

The Nursery at Arrow Valley follows the Early Years Foundation Stage, which is the statutory framework that sets the standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years. Whilst a robust curriculum is followed, we believe children also need to follow their own interests, in their own individual learning style.
